"An Apple a Day Is Not Enough" is a powerful poem written and performed by Taylor Mali (a well-known spoken word artist and teacher) about the importance of health education. It's done in the style of kinetic typography. We must get the word out about the importance of health education and its ability to get this country's health back on track—but we can't do it alone. Please share this video: Forward it, blog about it, like it on Facebook and send it to your Twitter followers. We'd also love to hear your thoughts on the issue in the comments below.

  • parents need to be involved....(period) in all aspects of school. The responsibility of parenting needs to be handed back to the parents instead of the school system handling it all

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!... for addressing the health issues we are facing with our youth, parents, and country as a whole. It's about time someone, outside of the health education field, advocated about the importance of requiring health education in school. As a health educator, who is always looking for more advocates, I give you two thumbs up! I will be sharing the video with our state's community of health educators.

  • Incredible. I am a strong health advocate and I'm in school to educate myself as well as others about this issue we have in this world. The way we overlook our health as if it's negligible needs to change. It's our lives and our Earth at stake. THIS needs to exposed to EVERYONE because health education is equally as important as academics, if MORE SO.

  • Right on, Taylor Mali. I am with you. I love the way the word animation entertains and communicates the impactful message with clarity. Thanks for sharing.

  • Amen!

  • OH... In love!!! Posting now to hell and back...

  • @mtgal48 I'm pretty sure they created it using adobe after effects, it's a long process
